Digital Microscopy Leadership - Grades 6-8 Cairo, Egypt 2006 - Page 3

During a short break, Tina (r.) invites Dr. Harry to visit the Carlucci American International School of Lisbon to assist the CAISL group in their implementation of digital microscopy.

Karen prepares the “ZOOMers” for the installation of the Motic software.

Participants check out their installation success.

Craig and Khadijah install their software.

The DigiScopes are connected to the software.

Tina and Craig explore the capabilities of the Motic software.

Denny, Andrew, and Adriana learn how to zoom in on their microscopic critters.

Denny and the other participants make slides of organisms (Daphnia, Hydra, Planaria, etc.) and check them out on their laptop screens.

Valerie and Rachael adjust the DigiScope focus.

Valerie and Rachael get it just right! New DigiScope and Motic users gain proficiency in a matter of a few hours.

Wayne brings the Daphnia into view, observing its structure and movement.

Participants’ attention is riveted on the organisms shown on the laptop screens.
