Project ZOOM depends upon digital microscopy technology and the science supplies and materials that support classroom explorations, investigations, and experimentation. Of course, the DigiScopes or equivalent digital microscopes are absolutely essential. Additionally, students working on projects may require laboratory supplies such as depression slides, blank slides and cover slips, prepared slides, live specimens, stains, pipettes, glassware, and the like that are an integral part of microscopic activities.
An important part of the students’ learning comes from the utilization of such resources. Science cannot be taught and learned effectively without materials, supplies, and equipment. In science, telling isn’t teaching and listening isn’t learning. Science demands engagement in hand’s-on, mind’s-on experiences. To learn science, students must do science—and doing science requires equipment and supplies.

Although many classroom-usable science resources may be obtained locally, following is a list of suppliers of science materials and equipment. All include resources for ZOOM-related science and most will ship to American overseas schools. Those offering DigiScopes are noted with an * beside the company name. Catalogs may be found online or secured by contacting these suppliers:
